An HBCU football matchup with potential conference championship implications has been moved to a national television time slot.
The Morgan State-Delaware State game, originally scheduled for Saturday Nov. 8 at 3:30 pm will now be played Friday night Nov. 7 at 7 p.m., the MEAC and ESPN announced earlier this week.
The game will either be televised on ESPN2 or ESPNU.
“Playing in front of a national television audience is always special for our student-athletes,” Morgan State head coach Damon Wilson said in a statement released by the university. “It’s a chance to show the hard work they’ve put in all season, and we look forward to the atmosphere that Friday night lights at Hughes Stadium will bring.”
Morgan State has a lifetime series lead of 41-27 over Delaware State, including a current streak of six wins in a row.
The Hornets, following their 39-10 win at Saint Francis (Pa) Saturday, are off to their best start since their MEAC championship season of 2007. Their current three-game win streak under new head coach DeSean Jackson is their longest since their last winning season of 2012.
The Bears picked up their first win of 2025 Saturday, shutting out Central State 27-0.
