Alabama A&M is not quite there yet with just two weeks before the Bulldogs play at SEC opponent Arkansas.
The defense had gotten the better of the offense through much of fall camp, but there were signs of encouragement that the team was rounding into shape during the last team scrimmage before the regular season begins.
Despite some early struggles, the afternoon wasn’t without fireworks, as several explosive plays ignited the crowd.
The standout moment came in the second half, when Isaiah Nwokenkwo sprinted down the left sideline for a 90-yard touchdown run. Later, quarterback JD Davis II found Jaden Gresham for a 53-yard touchdown pass.

“This was our second scrimmage, and we saw definite improvement from the first,” said head coach Sam Shade. “Some guys really stepped up. Overall, I thought the offense showed progress, especially with the running game.”
With fall camp officially behind them, the coaching staff will now focus on game preparation.
“We’ll start installing the game plan for Arkansas on Monday—both offense and defense,” Shade said. “From then on, our attention will be fully on Arkansas.”
The Bulldogs will play Arkansas on Aug. 30.
