Howard extends streak after non-conference road win

The Howard Bison just keep rolling.

Bryce Harris turned in another strong performance Saturday night, posting 18 points, 11 rebounds, and three steals to lead Howard past UNC Wilmington, 67–66, for the team’s fifth straight victory.

The Bison (9–5) looked sharp early, jumping out to a 38–27 halftime lead. They came out of the break firing too, stringing together a 7–0 run to stretch the margin to 14.

From there, Howard had to weather a late push by a tough Seahawks squad, but stayed poised down the stretch to pull out the one-point win.

Cam Gillus added 16 points, knocking down three of his five triples, while Cedric Taylor III filled up the box score with 15 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists.

Together, the trio controlled the tempo and made big plays when Howard needed them most.

UNC Wilmington (10–2) didn’t go quietly. Patrick Wessler put up 13 points, 14 rebounds, and three blocks, and Christian May chipped in 13 points, eight rebounds, and six assists.

The loss ended the Seahawks’ nine-game winning streak but showed just how close these two programs are.

The Bison are starting to look like a team hitting its stride — balanced scoring, tough rebounding, and late-game composure.

With five consecutive wins now under their belt, Howard’s momentum is building at just the right time.
