Jackson State wide receiver Travis Terrell has decided to enter the NCAA transfer portal, he announced on Saturday.
Terrell, who has been a consistent performer for the Tigers during his stint in Jackson, said he’s grateful for his time in Jackson but ready to explore new opportunities. “This wasn’t an emotional or feelings based decision, he said in a social media post. “This was a personal/business decision for me, my family and my future.”
This past season, Terrell had 607 rushing yards and six touchdowns on six yards per rush, helping the Tigers to a SWAC East championship.
His departure will leave a gap in Jackson State’s offense as head coach T.C. Taylor looks to build on the momentum heading into next year.
Several other Tigers are also weighing their options during the current transfer window, including SWAC leading rusher Ahmad Miller and wide receiver Ja’Naylon Dupree.
