The first game of the Michael Vick era at Norfolk State will be played under the bright lights on a national stage.
Norfolk State football announced the kickoff time for the team’s season opener against Towson, which is slated to begin at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 28.
The game will be televised nationally on the ESPN family of networks, with the channel designation to be revealed later.

The evening showdown will mark the first night game at William “Dick” Price Stadium since September 18, 2021, when the Spartans defeated Elizabeth City State 63-26 in their home opener.
It will mark Norfolk State’s first home mid-week game since a 13-7 loss to Bethune-Cookman on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2014.
Norfolk State and Towson have met three times prior to this season, with two of those meetings coming in the last two years. The Spartans took down the Tigers 21-14 in a rain-soaked road matchup in 2023, before Towson returned the favor with a narrow 28-23 win over NSU at Dick Price Stadium in 2024.
