Several HBCU basketball teams will have a chance to experience Disney while competing against each other this season.
The inaugural ESPN HBCU Hoops Invitational takes place Dec. 4-7 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at the Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
The men’s bracket will feature Florida A&M, Tuskegee, Florida Memorial, and Barber-Scotia. The women’s bracket features Bethune-Cookman, Hampton, Edward Waters and Cheyney.

Also happening during the invitational will be a college admissions fair and ongoing assistance with scholarships, academic help and career development opportunities.
“The HBCU Hoops Invitational is far more than a basketball tournament—it’s a powerful celebration of heritage, excellence and the limitless future of HBCU athletics,’’ said HBCU Hoops Global vice president Haywoode Workman, a former point guard with the Indiana Pacers and a longtime NBA referee. “We are building a legacy that extends well beyond the court to open doors to academic achievement, career readiness, and financial opportunity for our scholar-athletes.”
