Spanning 6 tracks and including features from Sabrina Claudio (“again”) and Bella Shmurda (“nothing spoil”), CKay The Second showcases CKay’s evolution as he seamlessly fuses R&B and pop with Afro rhythms, creating a body of work that feels deeply personal yet effortlessly inviting. Over an upbeat production, CKay brings his signature romantic energy to what feels like a busy summer ahead, solidifying his place as Africa’s doting boyfriend.

CKay The Second marks an important milestone in CKay’s career as he aims to expand his unique sound to a global audience while leaning further into the emotional vulnerability and melodic richness that have defined his global breakout. The EP signals his most refined and intentional release yet, crafted not only to resonate with his loyal fanbase but to connect with new listeners around the world. There’s a song for every mood on the project – cue the club-ready banger “permit me” and my personal favorite, “tey tey!”

Beyond the music, CKay is gearing up for his highly anticipated Summer 2025 tour, which will bring his electrifying live presence to stages across key international markets. The tour represents a major step in his mission to bring his distinct brand of Afrobeats to a wider global audience — and cements his evolution from viral sensation to fully realized global star.

Since his rise in 2019, CKay continues to push creative boundaries while championing African culture on the global stage. His breakout single “Love Nwantiti” became one of TikTok’s earliest viral success stories as the most-used song of 2021, amassing over 2 billion streams at the time and becoming the first-ever No. 1 on the former Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs Chart. The song peaked at #26 on the Billboard Hot 100 and earned multi-platinum certifications in over 20 countries, making CKay one of the most certified Afrobeats artists in the world. He followed up in 2022 with his debut album Sad Romance, and his 2024 sophomore album EMOTIONS, diving deeper into themes of love and introspection, and cementing his place as a standout voice in Afrobeats. By the end of 2024, CKay was named the best-selling Nigerian artist of the year by the RIAA.

With billions of streams and a growing international fanbase, CKay is solidifying his place as one of Africa’s most influential contemporary artists.

2. Pixel Grip – Percepticide: The Death of Reality

Source:Pixel Grip – Topic

Today, Chicago electronic trio Pixel Grip have released their highly anticipated third independent album, Percepticide: The Death of Reality, now available on all streaming platforms. Accompanying the release is a fiery music video for the focus track “Reason to Stay”, alongside visualizers for all tracks – deepening the album’s visceral, immersive experience. Watch HERE.

The album follows a series of acclaimed singles including “Reason to Stay”, “Split”, “Stamina” and “Bet You Do”. Co-produced with Joo Joo Ashworth (SASAMI, King Tuff), and written over a three-year period between Los Angeles and Chicago, Percepticide: The Death of Reality is a raw excavation of trauma, catharsis, and rebirth. The trio comprised of Rita Lukea (vocals), Jonathon Freund (synth), and Tyler Ommen (drums)—confront personal demons throughout: betrayal, addiction, emotional fracture, and disconnection.

The result is a searing sonic narrative exploring the collapse and reconstruction of identity, connection, perception, and reality itself. Opening track “Crows Feast” sets the tone and eases listeners in with Rita’s haunting lyrics: ”Thought that I made a friend, it turns out you’re one of them, I open up my ribcage and let the crows feast. And then they come back the next day and say they’re hungry.” On “Bet You Do”, Pixel Grip takes it up a notch with Rita’s vocals on full display amidst the band’s signature blend of darkwave and synth elements. “Reason to Stay” offers a gripping and emotionally charged confrontation of betrayal with unrelenting force, balancing vulnerability and strength in equal measure.

Percepticide: The Death of Reality marks Pixel Grip’s first fully independent release, a bold testament to their unwavering creative autonomy and DIY ethos of their earlier work. The album is incisive, aggressive, tender, and turbulent—capturing the full spectrum of tragedy, triumph, and emotional clarity. Throughout, Pixel Grip continues to eclipse genre, fusing darkwave, electronic, post-punk, and avant-pop into something wholly their own.

Explaining the title, the band shares, “Percepticide is a portmanteau of percipere (to perceive) and -cide (to kill), signifying ‘the killing of perception.’ Percepticide: The Death of Reality is more than just an album—it’s a visceral experience, a statement, and a call to redefine how we see the world.”

Rita adds, “‘Percepticide’ is a cognitive distortion and a symptom of trauma—beliefs you hold to be true are shattered—as you question everyone and everything around you. My dream is that expressing my rage can help someone else feel empowered and, at the very least, less alone. You’re never stuck, and you’re never alone.”

Pixel Grip will support the album release with a North American headline tour this Fall. The Percepticide Tour kicks off September 23rd in St. Louis, and hits 26 cities across the U.S. and Canada, culminating in a triumphant hometown performance at Chicago’s Metro on November 14th. For full dates and ticket info, visit pixelgripmusic.com/tourdates.

Percepticide: The Death of Reality signals a thrilling new chapter for Pixel Grip’s evolution–bolder, darker, and more expansive than ever. With their signature raw energy and cinematic flair, the trio transcends expectations, forging a singular sound that’s as abrasive as it is hypnotic. This is a band fully stepping into their power, unafraid to confront the chaos and beauty of reality on their own terms.

Stream the new album, stay tuned for more news to follow, and catch Pixel Grip live as they unleash Percepticide to the masses this Fall.

3. The Marcus King Band – Carolina Honey

Source:Marcus King

The Marcus King Band unveils a further taste of new music with “Carolina Honey” out now via American Records/Republic Records. Listen/share the song HERE.

“Carolina Honey” follows “Honky Tonk Hell.” Listen/share the song HERE. Watch/share the lyric video HERE.

“‘Carolina Honey’ is all about how I met my wife and what a significant impact that chance meeting had on my life that one night after a show in Raleigh, NC,” says King. “I woke up still hurting from the night before – still feeling I didn’t have much to live for. I’d given up on any thought that I could ever be ‘happy.’ All that changed when Little Bird walked into my life. After my set, Briley came backstage to say hello – she started playing Linda Ronstadt and singing and for the first time I saw something or someone in front me that gave me ‘hope.’ Someone I wanted to be my BEST self for – Someone I wanted to grow old with, someone that made me want to grow old ‘at all.’ ‘Carolina Honey’ takes the listener through my mentality that day, my change of heart that night and my burning desire for her to feel the same way too.”

The beloved Marcus King Band Family Reunion music festival will return for its fourth installment this summer, taking place in Charleston, SC for the first time ever. Over the course of two days—August 23 and 24—the festival will see performances by the Marcus King Band, Jamey Johnson, Stephen Wilson Jr., Molly Tuttle, Hiss Golden Messenger and more. Tickets and more information are HERE.

This year finds King hitting the road with Chris Stapleton, Cody Johnson, Eric Church and Dwight Yoakam. Complete list of dates below. King will be performing at Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Manchester, TN on June 12. He recently took the stage at CMA Fest in Nashville, performing at Nissan Stadium alongside Brooks & Dunn following their release of “Rock My World (Little Country Girl)” on their Reboot II album. He also played Spotify House before joining forces with Jordan Davis for a special performance of their unreleased track, “Louisiana Stick.” Additionally, King surprised fans with a pop-up set at Chief’s for Sirius XM. He sat in with Lukas Nelson for his set at Chief’s as well.

Greenville, South Carolina-born, Nashville-based Marcus King started performing alongside his blues guitarist father when he was just eight years old. He made his solo debut with El Dorado (2020), produced by Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys. The album was met with widespread acclaim, with the Associated Press calling it “a definite high point of 2020.” It went on to earn King his landmark Grammy nomination for Best Americana Album at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards.

He followed up the success of El Dorado with Young Blood (2022), also produced by Auerbach. His sophomore album debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Top Blues Albums Chart, describing it as a “staggeringly confident work.” Last year King returned with his third album, Mood Swings, produced by Rick Rubin, of which Rolling Stone describes, “he…goes for something much more daring, vulnerable, and openhearted.”

4. ZADA – Breath Away

Source:ZADA

Today, rising singer-songwriter ZADA has released her new song “Breath Away”.

Recorded at Vancouver’s HippoSonic Recording Studios, the track was produced by long-time collaborators Chin Injeti (Eminem, P!nk, J. Cole) and Brian West (Nelly Furtado, Sia, Bono) and written by ZADA, Injeti, and West.

Marking a powerful new chapter for the Ethiopian-born/Whistler-based artist, “Breath Away” captures catharsis, evoking feelings from moments, memories, and interactions. The song is imbued with nostalgic indie pop, digital drum patterns, sweeping major chords, and a sense of West Coast wonder as ZADA sings: “Salt, sun, serenity, I’m feeling everything; these small infinities, they take my breath away.”

In speaking about the track, ZADA says: “‘Breath Away’ is about the small infinities that people grant us and the echoes of their essence within us, how it takes your breath away.”

“Breath Away” is the first offering of new original music from ZADA since the release of her 2024 debut album Water In The Desert, which brought together Injeti, West, and producers Elliot Beenk and Tim Olivershe, with mastering by Grammy-winning engineers Neal H Pogue and Mike Bozzi. 5. Kevin Olusola ft. The HU Showtime Marching Band & Concert Chorale – Hallelujah at Howard University

Source:Kevin Olusola

In celebration of Black Music Month, Kevin Olusola, the dynamic singer, cellist, and beatboxer best known for his work with the 3x-GRAMMY® Award-winning a cappella group Pentatonix, joins forces with Howard University in a powerful new collaboration of “Hallelujah at Howard University.” The track is featured on the deluxe edition of his acclaimed debut solo album DAWN OF A MISFIT DELUXE (Sony Music Masterworks), which is available everywhere now.

Sparked by his desire to connect with young artists, Kevin’s work with Howard quickly evolved into a remarkable creative partnership rooted in shared experience, mutual inspiration, and a bold commitment to challenging stereotypes, and celebrating the brilliance, creativity, and differences.

“Hallelujah at Howard University” isn’t just a musical partnership – it’s a cultural moment aimed to support, celebrate and amplify a new generation.

The music video for “Hallelujah at Howard University” features Howard University’s ‘Showtime’ marching band and concert chorale. Filmed by Howard University graduate students on the Howard University football field under the direction of Emmy-winning Associate Film Professor Jami Ramberan, the video captures the energy, pride, and artistry of the Howard and HBCU communities.

“The heart of my artist project is simply this: ‘Be Your Own Misfit.’ It’s about unapologetically standing in your truth—even when it means defying stereotypes and going against the grain of cultural expectations,” shares Kevin Olusola. “In much of mainstream media, Black identity is often narrowly portrayed through lenses of struggle or success only in certain spaces like sports or hip-hop. But my story—and the stories of many others—don’t fit that mold. I’ve found a different kind of success through classical music, beatboxing, and innovation, and I want to spotlight that narrative.

“That’s why I chose to collaborate with Howard University, the pinnacle of Black excellence. When I visited campus, I was deeply moved by the students’ brilliance, their individuality, and the diversity of their passions—from medicine to anime to engineering. These students, like me, didn’t conform to media narratives—they were misfits in the best sense. So, we came together to create something no one expects: a powerful fusion of classical and marching band traditions that celebrates Black freedom, joy, and authenticity. This collaboration with Howard’s Concert Chorale and Showtime Marching Band is not just about the music—it’s a declaration of identity, excellence, and liberation.”

“When Kevin and the Sony Music Team approached us about collaborating on his new release, we immediately said YES. This became a prime opportunity to be on the forefront and shift a current trend. Let’s focus on the music and its message. There has been growing visibility and most recently a national/international spotlight on HBCU bands highlighting the talent and rich cultural significance of our reach beyond just the campus. Howard University is always next level, and this Sony Music partnership demonstrates Howard’s tremendous networking and access to global industries, while creating impactful hands-on opportunities for our students and growing the next generation of innovative creative artists, thinkers and leaders,” says Denise Saunders Thompson, Assistant Dean for Administration for Chadwick A. Boseman College of Fine Arts at Howard University. “HBCU bands continue their historical role of using their performances to voice resistance and reflect the struggles of the Black community, tackling contemporary issues through their music. They are also a space for exploring and celebrating diverse identities, blending modern sound, and uplifting the core essence of just being human.”

The multi-faceted artist previously unveiled his debut solo album DAWN OF A MISFIT this May. The wide-ranging album touches on spirituality, fatherhood, and being a first-generation person in a Western country, all while fusing classical, pop, R&B, and hip-hop. Listen to more on the album from NPR WEEKEND EDITION HERE.

7. Devine Carama & Amadeus360 – Guardians of the Boom Bap

Source:Amadeus360 – Topic

Emmy-winning rapper Devine Carama and producer Amadeus360 released their new collaborative album Guardians of the Boom Bap today (6/13/2025). Available on all major digital streaming platforms via Soulspazm, the album serves as an ode to Hip-Hop’s “Golden Era”. Album standout “Years To Build” borrows from two quintessential songs from this roughly decade-long period: Raekwon’s “Ice Cream” and Eric B & Rakim’s “Eric B. Is President”. The two samples compliment Devine’s lyrical expression of the blood, sweat, and tears poured into his artistry, and the challenges faced along the way. This morning, the song’s NYJtheOfficial-directed music video debuted via YouTube.

This one I had a lot of fun creating. This is a track I made to feature the struggle both Devine and I had coming up in this game. The scratch hook alone says it all. Again, Devine delivers impeccable lyricism over a Wu-Tang type sample.” – Amadeus360

Watch “Years To Build” on YouTube here

Guardians of the Boom Bap follows Amadeus360’s The MPC Jedi (2023) and Devine’s Kingtucky 4 (2024). “We want listeners to get that same feeling they got listening to hip-hop in the 90’s”, Carama explains. “Just beats, rhymes, and life.”

8. Avenoir & Bryant Barnes – Heaven

Source:Avenoir

One of the most exciting new voices in the R&B arena today, singer and songwriter Avenoir makes his return with a striking new single “Heaven” in collaboration with rising artist Bryant Barnes today. The South-African-born, Alberta-raised artist burst onto the music arena with a cult following, over 350 million total global streams to date, sold out shows, and a Juno nomination Contemporary R&B Record of the Year already under his young belt. Written and produced by Avenoir and his close collaborator and fellow producer YMX Beats, Andrew Luce alongside Bryant, “Heaven” sees the artists putting forth a body of work that is soulful, cinematic, and undeniably real. Blending soulful vulnerability with atmospheric production, Avenoir creates soundscapes that feel like late-night drives, hazy dreams, and love letters never sent. His voice is honey-drenched and haunting, weaving between contemporary R&B, alt-soul, and a touch of nostalgic ‘90s influence. It follows his scintillating “Art Of War” which was lauded by Billboard, proclaiming it a “sparkling alt-R&B fantasia complete with ebullient synths and lush keyboard chords cradling his breathless falsetto” and “Prince-esque”. Both singles share a glimpse into his striking universe that is lined with his signature sultry, tell-all and deeply confessional ballads that will make up his thrilling new body of work out later this year.

The Edmonton-based 23-year-old first generation artist is the child of Nigerian and Zambian parents who passed on their love for music to Avenoir and his siblings. His first venture into music began when he started playing piano in church with his mother, a powerful songstress in the church, as a way to fortify their relationship. At a young age, he also discovered a deep love for poetry during the second grade and soon after started making music from scratch as a kid. He drew from the sounds he was surrounded by growing up which included the rock and alternative music of his father and the soul and R&B of his mother, both of which have come to inform his one-of-a-kind sound.

More to come from Avenoir very soon.

The record is a hypnotic blend of Afro-Fusion and alternative textures, pulsing with raw emotion, poetic grit, and irresistible rhythm, anchored by June’s unmistakable voice.

Produced by Eric “AIR!C” José da Cruz and Ergin “BEARDEAUX” Dundar, “Spiritual” hits hard from the first beat, wrapping lush instrumentation and hypnotic flow around June Freedom’s seamless blend of English and Cape Verdean Kriolu. It’s a gritty street hymn rooted in sensuality and spirit, navigating the chaos of city life through the lens of survival, desire, and clarity. “Give me money… hustla / Ka manha-manha” takes on a layered, streetwise poetry (“No excuses, just push through”) becoming both a mantra and a prayer, anchoring a track that moves between struggle and release, prayer and pleasure, grit and groove.

The inspiration behind the single June shared, “Spiritual is a reflection of the inner battles we fight while trying to stay grounded in a chaotic world. It’s the part of me that still believes there’s meaning in the hustle… that even pain can sound like poetry.”

Following standout records like “Oh My Lady,” “DORAMA,” and “Bonita,” “Spiritual” marks a bold leap forward. It’s a fully realized statement, where soul meets edge, and vision meets execution. Source:Oxymorrons

New York’s genre-blurring punks Oxymorrons are back with “Cool Being You” – a vibrant new single that dives headfirst into a dynamic fusion of alternative, punk, and hip-hop. Entirely written, recorded, and produced by the band, the track also marks the start of a bold new chapter, with Oxymorrons announcing their upcoming EP ‘Create, Destroy, Rebuild, Repeat.’, to release fall 2025.

Opening with atmospheric textures, driving drums, pulsating bass, and delicate guitar lines, “Cool Being You” quickly explodes with gritty “modern punk” production, the sonic playground where Oxymorrons thrive. Trading verses that range from melodic crooning to swagger-drenched rap to guttural screams, all three vocalists bring an unmistakable energy and depth. It’s a natural next chapter in the band’s sonic evolution, one that builds on their roots while pushing further into the unexpected.

“This is for those who were told they have to fit into a box. ‘Cool Being You’ is about shaking that off and owning every piece of yourself,” says the band. “There’s freedom in being exactly who you are, and this track is the soundtrack to that energy.”

More than just a new single, “Cool Being You” marks the beginning of a new era for Oxymorrons – not just sonically, but personally and creatively. Now a lean, focused three-piece made up of vocalist brothers Deee and KI alongside guitarist Jafé Paulino, the band is embracing their independence and entering a phase defined by full creative control. Although they’ll miss their brother, ex-drummer Matty Mayz, they are excited for and proud of him with his new restaurant venture. “If you know Matty the only thing he loves more than drumming is food. We may not be sharing the stage but we are sharing meals as often as we can.” Their upcoming EP ‘Create. Destroy. Rebuild. Repeat.’ reflects that shift: raw, self-defined, and completely on their own terms.

“We’re excited about this new chapter — it feels like a reset, but with everything we’ve learned along the way,” the band shares. “We’ve always believed in doing things differently, and now we get to do that without compromise. The vision is clearer than ever.

The new single follows their full length album Melanin Punk (Oct 2023), which earned critical acclaim for its bold genre fusion and boundary-pushing message. Featuring standout tracks like “Look Alive (Netic)” – which cracked the Mediabase Active Rock Radio chart reaching #27 - the album became a rallying cry for individuality and representation. Known for their blistering live shows, Oxymorrons are currently on the road with Sleep Theory and set to perform at every stop of the Warped Tour 30th Anniversary, hitting Washington D.C., Long Beach, CA, and Orlando, FL.

India Shawn returns with her genre-bending new single and video, “Kill Switch” on VANTA Music/Disney Music Group. The song highlights India’s mesmerizing voice and weaves the story of reclaiming one’s power.  Said India, “’Kill Switch’” is an unexpected shift, as I move away from the familiar shadows of unreturned love and reclaim the power to decide my own fate.  It’s a song about recognizing the potential danger of crossing the line from friends to lovers, and trying to safeguard what’s real before it becomes too messy; “this could turn from a good thing to hate, keep it shallow for our own sake.”  “Kill Switch” was written by India Shawn, Varren Wade, D’Mile, Livvy Bennett and Michael Benjamin Hunter, and was produced by D’Mile, Livvy Bennett and Michael Benjamin Hunter.

The video was directed by Anne-Sophie Bine and co-stars India Shawn with actor/musician Luke James.  The clip is a labyrinthine odyssey through love, loss and the unraveling of reality.  India finds herself trapped in a shifting tapestry of her own past lives.  As scenes collapse and identities blur, India must come to terms with the fact that some relationships aren’t meant to last.

26. Fujii Kaze – Hachikō

Source:Fujii Kaze

Primed to make waves around the globe this year, acclaimed Japanese singer, songwriter, and Fujii Kaze shares a brand new single entitled “Hachikō” available now. It heralds the arrival of his anxiously awaited third full-length studio album, Prema, out September 5, 2025.

Listen to “Hachikō” HERE. Pre-order/Pre-save Prema HERE. Watch the Music Video HERE.

About the release, Kaze said, “It all started with a bit of playfulness. Tobias Jesso Jr. suggested we try a song with Japanese in it. He said “What was the name of that dog at Shibuya?” and I said, “uh…Hachiko?”. And Sir Nolan made the beat on the spot. Years later, I watched the movie “The Tale of Hachikō” to finish the song. The melody and lyrics came naturally after that. I had never written a song to a beat before, so it was a whole new experience for me. Finally, I worked with producer 250 to further refine it. Hachiko, a loyal dog, waited for his deceased owner for 10 years at the station every day, and they finally got to see each other in heaven. Rather than focusing on the tragic sides of the story, the song highlights its joy and peace. This song is about the power of loyalty and, it seems also about my fans who have been patiently waiting for my 3rd album. Ha!”

Expanding his sound once more, “Hachikō” laces primarily English lyrics with Japanese phrases, bringing bilingual energy to the tune. Neon keys accent the stomp of a head-nodding drumbeat, while bassline struts across the path of a disco-ready track. Buoyed by shimmering synths, it culminates on a gloriously catchy chorus, “You’ve been patiently waiting for me.” It has all the makings of an international banger.

It lands in the wake of the 2024 fan favorite “Michi Teyu ku (Overflowing).” Beyond reeling in over 90 million Spotify streams, he has recently landed looks in Billboard and more.

In other news, Kaze will be performing all over the world in 2025. He will appear at upcoming festivals such as North Sea Jazz Festival in the Netherlands, Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, Lollapalooza in Chicago, and Outside Lands in San Francisco. Check out his full confirmed itinerary below.

28. Ginger Winn – Freeze Frame

Source:Ginger Winn

Today, Kingston, NY via Charleston, South Carolina folk singer-songwriter Ginger Winn thoughtfully moves through grief on her sophomore album, Freeze Frame out now. On the new single, the artist ponders love passed through generations with “Socrates” and its accompanying official music video. Tonight, Winn will celebrate the new music with a show at Woodstock Way in Woodstock, NY.

Freeze Frame, out now, produced and engineered by A.J. Yorio (Michael Marcagi), sees Winn tackle the complexities of heavy topics like suicide, grief and anxiety. Recorded during a record snow storm in Cincinnati at Yorio’s home studio after globally touring with Michael Marcagi, the album came together naturally and the pair found their stride. Yorio reflects, “I had barely learned how to keep time on the drum kit, let alone learn how to record them correctly, when Matt Baione (Ginger’s co-writer) reached out and asked if I would want to get in the studio first-thing 2025 and make a record. My second son had just been born eight weeks earlier. When Ginger came in January we got snowed in for more than a week with record-breaking-flakes here in Cincinnati. Sharing my home and family with Ginger amidst the epic snowstorm felt like living in a really intriguing Netflix series. It was an utter blast.”

The 14 tracks thoughtfully walk through the stages of grief and hold the intricacies of Winn’s layered emotions as she processes deep loss and discovers a new kind of acceptance–of herself and of her circumstances. Winn reveals, “’Freeze Frame’ is the most emotional project I’ve ever made. It holds my new grief, my longing, and all the tiny moments that pulled me through. I experienced the sudden passing of my father two months before final production and recording vocals, and it was so healing to put all those emotions into something so beautiful.”

Additional appearances on Freeze Frame come from Lily Breshears (Haley Heynderickx) who plays harp on “Scenes from a Wake,” Chris Pasin who plays trumpet on “Circling Squares” and Florentine violinist Kevin Mucaj. The album was mixed by Tom “Tomás Tomás” Fattorusso and GRAMMY-winner Justin Guip.

“Socrates,” out today, blends Winn’s past, present and future through airy vocals, a steady guitar strum and a commanding rhythm. The track sinks into nostalgia, how the past informs the present and the kind of love that endures through generations. Winn expands, “‘Socrates’ is about the unknown legacy we all leave behind. My co-writer Matt came up with this idea about philosophy and planting seeds for a future we’ll never see, and I brought in what I was going through—growing up, leaving home, moving to South Africa, and missing my mom. It became a song about how we’re shaped by the people who raised us and how we, in turn, shape others—even if we’re not around to see the impact.”

In its Hudson Valley-set music video shot on the same bridge as many scenes in Apple TV’s Severance, Winn wanders the empty, dimly lit bridge alone. On the location, one that will be familiar to Severance fans, Winn shares, “I was drawn to its eerie quiet, and the way it holds both beauty and mystery — much like grief, and much like this song.”

“It’s an unraveling,” says Winn. “It starts with three acorns disappearing from my hands and becomes a chase–running from something I can’t see. It ends with me flat on the Severance bridge in Kingston—no road closures, just a midnight shoot and a prayer no cars hit us. That final shot felt like a surrender—to the unknown, to the chase, to whatever we’re all running from.”

Most recently, Winn shared “Escape” and its matching video where she aims to outrun her anxiety accompanied by a wolf dog in a wintery, barren forest. Atwood Magazine, who debuted the single, wrote, “Brutally honest and achingly raw, “Escape” is a song of reckoning and release – an intimate confessional and a vulnerable, cathartic confrontation with Winn’s inner world: The weight, the pain, the hope, and the healing. It’s about facing our fear head-on, making space within ourselves for it, and finding the strength to move forward – together.”

Born and raised in South Carolina, Ginger Winn has been singing and songwriting since age nine. In 2022, Winn began producing music for others online, and in 2024, shared her wistful debut album, STOP-MOTION, produced by David Baron (The Lumineers, Noah Kahan, Shawn Mendes). Atwood Magazine wrote the LP is “sweet, stirring, and sun-kissed..an intimate and honest snapshot of the full spectrum of emotion and experience, introducing a budding artist with a heart of gold and the voice to match.” Now, with new hardships and life experiences that color her second project, Winn begins to artistically explore and present new parts of herself as she moves through the darkness and weight of grief like never before.

Ginger Winn’s meditative sophomore album, Freeze Frame, is out now. Celebrate the record live tonight at Woodstock Way Hotel in Woodstock, NY. Keep up with Ginger Winn on InstagramTikTok, and YouTube for much more from the rising musician.

31. iann dior – CYCLES

Source:iann dior

Today, multi-platinum artist iann dior has released CYCLES, his bold new full-length album via Big Noise. With every track, he flexes his ability to blend alternative, hip-hop, rock, and pop sounds into a style that’s entirely his own. CYCLES, executively produced by John Feldmann (blink-183, Good Charlotte, 5SOS), pushes boundaries and dives deep into the highs and lows of modern life, reflecting his ever-evolving artistic vision.

With CYCLES, iann dior set out to do things differently. “I wanted it to be less perfect,” he shares. “I stopped editing out the flaws. Some of the best parts were recorded in one take with all the emotion still on my voice.” Sonically, he leaned into the energy, focusing on authenticity over precision. “The goal wasn’t to fit in a genre but to say what I needed to say and let the sound follow that.” This approach gave the album a raw, unfiltered feel that’s as real as his message.

Lead single, “TATTOOS & U,” is impossible to ignore. With its punchy guitars and a beat that makes you want to move, this song has swagger in spades. The chorus is instant ear candy, and the video – shot in NYC while iann was on tour this past April – captures the track’s raw, restless energy. The video offers an intimate look into Iann Dior’s life on tour, capturing electrifying on-stage moments, his experience getting a new tattoo while in NYC, and a candid scene of him signing his latest single in the back of a cab.

According to iann the new album feels like both the end of one chapter and the start of another. It represents growth, but also the ongoing journey of figuring things out. He explains, “ I’m not trying to be the version of myself people expect. I’m trying to be the most honest version of myself, period. That’s what this album means to me.”

Having just wrapped up his North American headline tour which included a stop at the iconic Bottlerock Music Festival, iann is set to keep the momentum going by bringing his energetic live show to Warped Tour in Long Beach, CA, on July 26-27 and Summerfest in Milwaukee, WI, on June 21. Full tour dates and ticket information can be found at ianndior.komi.io.

32. Lebra Jolie – Off Yo Chest

Source:Lebra Jolie

Houston rapper Lebra Jolie (Interscope Records) returns with a bang, releasing her latest single, “Off Yo Chest,” a bold, bossed-up anthem that’s equal parts fierce and unapologetically raw.

Built on hard-hitting production and Lebra’s signature slick-talking delivery, “Off Yo Chest” is a high-energy flex that radiates confidence, power, and undeniable sex appeal. With razor-sharp bars like “Having pressure cool, let’s get it off yo chest / F**k I look like addressing hoes, they ain’t got no address”—Lebra makes it clear she’s not here to play.

“‘Off Yo Chest’ is a personal release for me,” says Lebra in a statement. “It’s me stepping into my power and saying everything that’s been building up, unapologetically. The song represents freedom of expression, confidence, sexy, and emotional honesty. It’s the voice of someone who’s done holding back, done being silent, and done letting things slide. It’s raw, it’s bold, and it’s very me.”

The song also comes with an official music video that matches the song’s bold energy, featuring Lebra delivering her bars in front of a circle of cameras, putting her center stage like the star she is. The visuals are sleek, cinematic, and confident—mirroring the bossed-up tone of the track and placing Lebra right where she belongs: in full control and in focus.

“Off Yo Chest” follows Lebra’s first release of the year, titled “Turn Me Up.” The song is a masterclass in swagger and unapologetic self-assurance where Lebra harnesses the essence of empowerment and individuality, with a playful yet commanding tone that lets her listeners know there’s no tuning her out. The official music video, directed by Jerry Mork, has Lebra riding around in her whip and joins her girls in a store before taking things back to the streets to let everyone know she’s one of a kind. Watch HERE

Lebra is poised to capitalize on a fiery 2024 run, where she released an EP titled What Was Said?, which marked her highly anticipated return to the rap game. The project features infectious tracks such as “Come Get Me,” “Risk It All,” and “Talk My Shit 4” which had fans rocking through the entire summer season. Lebra also teamed up with an A-list group of guest features for the EP, including Saweetie, Skilla Baby, and BIA. In addition to the features, Lebra also put in work with reputable producers including Vega Heartbreak, DJ Chose, Southside Yoko, Pi’erre Bourne, and Derrick Milano.

After bursting onto the scene with her 2022 Interscope Records self-titled debut, Lebra released another heater of a project titled The Pressure Pack that highlighted her raw, elite freestyle ability. She kept fans listening with the release of the BIA-assisted banger titled “Yeah.” Before that, Lebra steamrolled through the independent scene with three projects, Murder She Wrote, Brianna, and Now What while also unleashing a boatload of singles and freestyles. Lebra also has collaborations with the likes of Babyface Ray and Rob49 while also landing coveted features in iconic outlets such as BillboardPitchfork, and Essence.

BKTHERULA isn’t simply releasing music — she’s crafting a universe. Her new single, “DUMB SHIT” opens the final door to her much-talked-about album LUCY, arriving June 27. Out now via Warner Records, the single is available on all major streaming platforms — listen HERE.

Right out the gate, “DUMB SHIT” hits with a raw, bass-heavy beat that grabs hold and doesn’t let go. This release marks a pivotal moment in the creative arc leading into LUCY.

With “DUMB SHIT,” BK ramps up anticipation for LUCY—a genre-defying body of work that signals a bold new chapter in her artistic evolution. 37. Biffy Clyro – A Little Love

Source:Biffy Clyro

U.K. alt-rock giants Biffy Clyro return with new single “A Little Love,” their first new music since their #1 album A Celebration of Endings and its companion project The Myth Of The Happily Ever After. The trio recently introduced the track to a huge audience during their main stage set at Radio 1’s Big Weekend and it has just been premiered as Radio 1’s Hottest Record. Listen to “A Little Love” HERE.

Recorded with producer Jonathan Gilmore, “A Little Love” is Biffy Clyro – Simon Neil (vocals/guitar), James Johnston (bass) and Ben Johnston (drums) – in their most gloriously uplifting mode. Its effervescent tones, dramatic synth stabs and heavyweight grooves establish the band’s renowned blend of grit and melody, but it soon takes flight with a soaring, sky-bound hook that’s as instantly infectious as any of their big hits. It’s the perfect soundscape for lyrics which celebrate love in all its forms, and especially the realization that you don’t always know what you have until it’s gone.

The accompanying visual for the track uses the striking physicality of interconnected body movement between the three as a metaphor for the durability and reliance that Biffy Clyro share as a band. The concept was inspired by Marina Abramović’s 1977 work Relation In Time, and the visual was directed by Piers Dennis, best known for his work with Self Esteem. Simon, James and Ben were choreographed by the Olivier and Obie Award winner Steven Hoggett, who is renowned for collaborating with David Byrne for the performance art project Social! The Social Distance Dance Club.

In addition to its digital release, “A Little Love” is also available on limited edition 7” vinyl. The b-side features an etching.

“A Little Love” emerges as Biffy Clyro prepare to embark upon the next chapter in their journey, with more new music to follow soon.

United as a band since they were just 15-years-old, the trio have taken their band from the big dreams of their scrappy, grunge-loving origins to become one of the biggest forces in alternative rock. Against all odds those ambitions were realised with three UK #1 albums; headline sets at festivals from Reading and Leeds and Download to Radio 1’s Big Weekend and TRNSMT; countless arena shows; multiple NME and Kerrang! awards plus three BRIT nominations.

After recently paying tribute to their roots by playing a secret show under their original name Screwfish, Biffy Clyro have a big summer of festival dates ahead of them. It includes UK sets at Glastonbury, a Scottish homecoming at TRNSMT, and two nights at Eden Sessions in Cornwall – see a full list of dates here.

38. Paul Weller – I Started A Joke

Source:Paul Weller

Paul Weller is set to make his return on July 25th with the

highly anticipated new album Find El Dorado – a bold and personal collection of reinterpretations that

shine new light on some of the songs that have shaped him.

Ahead of the album’s release, one of its standout moments arrives via all streaming platforms is a

striking version of the Bee Gees’ haunting classic “I Started a Joke,” available now. First released

as a single in 1968 (though not in the UK), Weller didn’t actually hear the Bee Gees’ version until

after he had already recorded several albums of his own. Now, it becomes a centrepiece of Find El

Dorado – a song he not only admires, but wishes he had written himself.

“It’s one of those tracks that almost makes you re-think your own writing,” Weller says. “It reinforces

the value of a great melody. And perhaps with someone like Robin Gibb, who didn’t play any

instruments, that’s doubly important. Because that – along with the words you’ve written for it – is all

you can really communicate to the musicians and the arranger. So everything is hanging off that.”

LISTEN TO “I STARTED A JOKE” HERE

“I Started A Joke,” follows the release of “Lawdy Rolla” / “Pinball,” available now digitally and on

limited edition 7” vinyl. Click HERE to pre-order. “Lawdy Rolla” was originally by an obscure French

studio band called The Guerrillas, featuring African jazz star Manu Dibango. The second track is

Brian Protheroe’s 1974 hit “Pinball,” reimagined here with a hauntingly evocative saxophone

contribution from Weller band member Jacko Peake.

Find El Dorado isn’t just a covers album – it’s a tribute to the music that’s guided Weller through his

life and career. Revisiting songs that have long lived in the corners of his memory, he infuses each

one with fresh meaning, reverence, and emotional insight.

If it’s true you can get lost in music, Weller proves that you can also find yourself in it. Find El

Dorado maps the emotional and musical DNA of one of the UK’s most enduring and adventurous

artists.

39. Spellman Twinz – Dinero

Source:Spellman Twinz

Identical twin phenomenon the Spellman Twinz return this week with their fiery new track, “Dinero” – dropping this Friday, June 13th. A high-energy anthem about getting to the money and getting out of your feelings, “Dinero” blends the twins’ signature pop and hip-hop sound with razor-sharp lyricism and undeniable flair. Charged with the bounce of Brazilian funk, the track is bold, brash, and unbothered – offering yet another taste of the Twinz’s forthcoming album, a genre-bending project set to deliver pure heat, hustle, and main-character energy. With over 1.2 million TikTok followers, 332K+ on YouTube, and 115K+ on Instagram, Clinton and Calvin Spellman are turning viral status into a full-fledged musical takeover – blurring the lines between influencer, artist, and cultural force with every drop.

Calvin explains the inspiration behind the Twinz’s new single, “At the beginning of 2024, I gave someone
who had pursued me a chance. But once they had me, they stopped communicating and gave low effort.
I usually avoid dating because it requires vulnerability, and in that situationship, I really let my guard
down. I’m still embarrassed till this day for showing them that side of me. So we made ‘DINERO’ to shift
the focus – on the money, not the man.”

When the Spellman Twinz first embarked on their pathway to fame, they had no idea that the journey
they endured before the cameras turned on would ultimately empower a whole world of fans. Songs like
“Body Clash” and “Tonight” grabbed the world by storm, with visuals to match the grooves, as
“Hydration” fanned the flames of their growing success.

Yes, they’re identical twins. Born in Redding, California, just two hours from Sacramento, their early
years were far from golden. Their parents split when they were four, forcing a move to Sacramento with
their father. By six, they were caught in a chaotic cycle—bouncing between homes, including foster care,
as their father’s abuse continued. After eventually moving back in with him in their preteens, music soon
became their refuge. “We always loved music. It was, like, our getaway—especially when we were
young—because we didn’t used to go anywhere,” Calvin shares. “We used to have a clock radio in our
room, and at night, we would sit there and listen to music, just thinking about our life and where it could
be,” Clinton adds. While they admired many artists, it was bold, danceable icons like Rihanna—blending
infectious melodies with a fearless attitude—that truly inspired them.

By 17, the twins were back in Redding. “Basically, our father disowned us when he found out about our
sexualities,” Calvin recalls. Newly embracing their identities as gay young men, they faced another
upheaval—one ran away, the other followed, and they reunited with their mother just three months
before high school graduation. Despite the chaos, they managed to graduate and enroll at Sacramento
State University, earning track scholarships. But when their viral dance videos took off on YouTube and
Musical.ly (and later TikTok), their growing public personas clashed with the track team—leading to their
removal. Then, in an eerie moment of twin telepathy, both suffered a mental breakdown, were
hospitalized, left school, and lost their apartment.

Through tragedy came triumph, and it was then that they found their voice in music. “We’re gay, and we
wanted to make music that people could relate to and feel good about,” Calvin says. “It felt like we were
a good representation of our community, but our music also represents our personalities.” The Spring of
2024 was a turning point for the twins. After a few years of finding their space in dance music online,
they took it offline and started performing at major events like Sacramento Pride.

It’s been a long time coming for the Spellman Twinz. After weathering their share of storms, they’re
reclaiming their narrative with “Dinero” – shifting the focus back to themselves (and the bag), while
uplifting others through music.“We want to make music that’s fun and danceable,” the two echo matter
of factly. “We’re here to inspire people to have a good time.”

40. Wesko – Pretend

Source:Wesko

Today, rising North Carolina based singer-songwriter Wesko shares his latest single “Pretend” via underscore works recordings / Warner Records. Listen HERE. It lands in the wake of his (un)plugged, vol. 2 EP from earlier this year.

Wesko’s “Pretend” is a poignant country track that delves into the raw vulnerability of unrequited love. With his signature vocals, Wesko paints a vivid picture of a man caught in the throes of deep affection for someone still hung up on a past love. “Kiss me like you need me, hold me like you want me to stay for a while / Oh, I know I ain’t him, but baby, please just try,” sings Wesko. The song’s tender melody and heartfelt delivery capture the bittersweet ache of loving someone who can’t fully reciprocate.

Earlier this month, Wesko made his debut at CMA Music Festival in Nashville, TN on the

Hard Rock Stage. He also performed at the White Claw Shore Club during the festival. Wesko is set to tour throughout the rest of the year and a full routing can be found below. Tickets are available for purchase HERE

Last year, Wesko unveiled “Helene (The Carolina Taping).” Reflecting the pain of the region in the wake of Hurricane Helene, he pledged a donation of 50% of all proceeds generated by the song to the North Carolina Community Foundation Disaster Release Fund. Listen to “Helene” HERE and learn more about the NCCF and donate HERE.

After hearing “Helene,” country superstar Luke Combs personally invited Wesko to perform at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, NC as part of the Concert for Carolina. Taking the stage, Combs introduced him, and he captivated a capacity crowd of 82,000 with a heart-wrenching rendition of the song. He notably joined a powerhouse bill with Eric Church, The Avett Brothers, Scotty McCreery, Sheryl Crow, and Keith Urban. The event raised over $24 million for Hurricane Helene relief.

Hailing from Kenansville, NC, Wesko has quietly emerged as a country maverick with a knack for true grit. Inspired by everyone from Neil Young and Eric Church to My Chemical Romance and Green Day, he has architected a raw and real style of his own. No stranger to hard work, he has impressively balanced a full academic schedule at The University of Mount Olive, all the while working an intense full-time job as a foreman for an erosion control company and gaining traction on songs such as “Burning House” and “No Surprise.” He also notably attracted an audience one-fan-at-a-time, gaining momentum locally and magnifying his imprint on social media. Inking a deal with underscore works recordings / Warner Records in 2024, Wesko holds nothing back on his debut Lost Boys EP and latest release, (un)plugged, vol. 2.

42. Zzz. – One More Night

Source:Zzz.

Today, Miami artist Zzz. shares “One More Night,” a catchy alt-pop cut soaked in nostalgia for more carefree days. He also announces his anticipated forthcoming EP titled Close Your Eyes & Listen is set for release on June 27th via Warner Records.

Produced by Goldfinger founder John Feldman (Avril Lavigne, Blink-182, Yungblud), “One More Night” continues Zzz.’s foray into guitar-forward songcraft. Listen HERE and watch the video HERE.

”One More Night” opens on Zzz. and an electric guitar, and then expands to include warm synths, driving drums, and a bittersweet melody where his evocative vocals and lyrics capture the highs and lows of living like there’s no tomorrow. Zzz. asserts:

“‘One More Night’” is about how we never can know when things are going to take a wrong turn,” says Zzz. “I was inspired by that specific feeling. There’s something nostalgic about the sound — it takes me back to when I made these same sorts of decisions that I would’ve been unsure about at the time, but ultimately decided that I didn’t care about the outcome.”

Zzz. debuted a newly pop-punk-inspired sound last month with “Somebody Else,” an explosive single with soaring vocals, also produced by Feldmann. Earlier this year came the euphoric “1” — a constantly evolving mix of grunge guitar and bright synths — while Zzz. closed out 2024 with a pair of companion pieces that captured his raw talent and intensity: the viscerally vulnerable “scared to fall asleep” and the heartbroken “u don’t care no more.”

With a dynamic voice that packs an emotional punch and a unique ability to bend genre, Zzz. has established himself as a rulebreaker with a knack for creating bold soundscapes for his wholly unfiltered anthems. “One More Night” finds him innovating once again.

44. Kill Dyll – PARASOCIAL

Source:Kill Dyll

Today, genre-upending vocalist/producer Kill Dyll releases “PARASOCIAL,” a dark vision of hypermodern fan-artist dynamics set to blistering, 90s-styled alt-rock. Listen HERE and watch the visualizer HERE via Second Estate / Warner Records.

”PARASOCIAL” is the latest entry in a new mask-off era for Kill Dyll that finds him unpacking the complexities around him via music and lyrics that are more personal and visceral than ever. The new single opens on a heavy riff before exploding into a full-band sound — crashing drums, thick bass, distorted guitar — while his voice is a dark chant channelling unchecked obsession.

Each month seems to bring a new manifestation of Kill Dyll’s current vision. Most recently, he shared the grunge-caked meditation on personal fragility and dependence, “WILTED ROSE.” Before that came “THE COST,” a hypnotic descent into disconnection, and surprise release “START TO BLEED,” capturing the existential crush of our times over a wall of shoegazing guitar and distorted production. As a whole, the songs pair heavy, insightful lyrics with music that channels both gnarled ‘90s angst and the unrestrained expression of 2010s emo-rap.

Kill Dyll opened the year with his headlining U.S. Holy Trinity Tour and has since been sharing snippets of new music directly to fans on his social channels — a move that coincides with the DIY-minded Denver-based artist leaving behind the elaborate masks he used to wear. Longtime followers have had the opportunity to witness him evolve his work across projects, continuously challenging himself to push the boundaries of his music while exploring new ways to let loose raw emotion and provide musical relief to listeners working through dark feelings of their own.

With “PARASOCIAL,” Kill Dyll continues that mission while building anticipation for more emotive, one-of-one music to come.

45. Nobu Woods – WHITEOUT

Source:Nobu Woods

Today, alt-R&B auteur Nobu Woods releases his new single, “WHITEOUT.” Written, produced, and recorded entirely by the New York native, the sexually charged track is as sonically inventive as it is lyrically direct. Listen HERE and watch the visualizer HERE via Second Estate / Warner Records.

With its glistening atmosphere, eerie chimes, and experimental production, “WHITEOUT” isn’t your typical R&B song. Woods’ aching voice infuses the song with an intense sense of desire as he addresses his lover. He moves fluidly between yearning melodies and an assertive rhythmic delivery as the track picks up darkly lush layers. Nobu says of the track:

”In short, “WHITEOUT” is a club anthem,” says Woods. ”In this song, nothing exists but ‘the now’ and the way the female subject is feeling. All that matters is that two people are together, feeling completely free, and enjoying each other’s company.”

”WHITEOUT” is also Woods’ first new release since dropping his project, the brooding and progressive UNTL EP, an 8-song exploration and expression of the more complex and intimate facets of intense romantic love. UNTL included several never-before-heard songs alongside three singles: the soulful, melancholy “FAULT,” club-ready breakup anthem “SPLIT,” and ice-cold ”SAVIOR.”

Nobu Woods continues to push the boundaries of modern R&B, merging raw emotion with bold sonic experimentation. As he carves out his own lane, this latest release signals an artist unafraid to bare it all—on his own terms.
