The Southern Heritage Classic, which faced an uncertain future following Tennessee State’s departure, announced Friday that Alcorn State and Arkansas Pine-Bluff will be 2025 participants
“We are thrilled to welcome Alcorn State to Memphis this September to take on UAPB,” SHC founder Fred Jones said in a statement. “For the first time in our history, there is added significance to this year’s event, as this will be a conference game for both teams.”
Alcorn State will make its first SHC appearance, and this will be the third season in a row UAPB will play in Memphis.
The game was scheduled to be a home game for UAPB, but with their campus 150 miles west of Memphis and Alcorn’s 270 south of Memphis, this seems like a natural fit for a neutral site game.
Tickets and other information will be announced in the near future for the annual HBCU football classic.
