Daniel Johnson, a 6’5 wing from Chicago, has committed to Hampton University. He made his announcement via social media on Monday.
“I want to thank God and my family without them I wouldn’t be here,” Johnson wrote. “I’d like to also thank all of my coaches through the years and all the coaches that have recruited. I’m proud to announce that I will be committing to Hampton University and playing for Coach Ivan Thomas.”
Johnson played his high school ball at Whitney Young High School in Chicago, where he was noted for his 3-point shooting. He earned offers from DePaul, Akron, Northern Illinois and Toledo before he spent a post-graduate year at Brewster Academy at Wolfboro, NH.
He’s currently ranked as the 45th best small forward in his class and the fifth-best player in the state of New Hampshire.
